An anomymous source which has been recently very reliable gave our talentuous columnist MacGregor some news items about Cupertino’s decision to make an early annoucement about the forthcomming release of 3 brand new PowerBooks.

Indeed, the Apple’s whole laptop lot had to be refreshed in the coming weeks, but the public annoncement might be done the days before Paris Apple Expo. As a matter of fact, this could be a way to cut the ground from under rumors sites’ feet.

Despite the non confirmed details about the expected new machines, here are the snatches we managed to grab :

• 17″ model would see an increased clockspeed chip.

• the so expected 15,4″ might be aluminium coachworked (what a surprise, uh)

• 12,1″ model would receive both increased RAM & clockspeed chip, even an unexpected 13″,3 screen to replace 12,1″.

Of course, it’s only suppositions, but our fellows from MacBidouille also conjured up this possibility asking readers to check Apple’s website as soon as tomorrow…

One more thing…

About Steve Job’s Keynote, it could be the platform to annonce new iMacs, with an embeded 1,6 PPC G5 in an henceforth very attractive top on the range, and maybe G4 chips in a new iBook lot, when MacOSRumors only expects high speeded G3 chips.

There’s such a few days now from Apple Expo we can’t warn too much about this kind of rumors…
